Organization of design and construction department at Chernorechensky Chemical Plant (ChKhZ)

Foundation of Dzerzhinsk Branch of State Institute of Nitrogen Industry  
1953
Design work for urea project 
1954
Foundation of scientific research laboratory which fulfilled scientific research works and development works in such fields as recovery of defoliants, toxic chemicals and intermediates, including isocyanates. 
1956 
First projects for foreign customers from Romania and China 
1960 
Urea was added to the list of works 
1962 
Construction of the main building of Institute
1975 
Pilot engineering base created as a part of the scientific department was converted into a pilot plant 
1989 
Institute obtained the right to perform independent international activities and granted licenses for know how/technical documentation export. 
1990 
Institute became independent as a state enterprise called “GosNIIkarbamidproekt”
1999 
Enterprise got its present name - JSC NIIK “Design and Research Institute of Urea and Organic Synthesis Products” (NIIK)
2011 
Ammonium chemical complex construction started in Tatarstan (NIIK is performing functions of general designer and contractor of the project).
2016
On February 12, President of Russia Vladimir Putin launched Ammonium chemical plant in Mendeleevsk via videoconference from Naberezhnye Chelny.
